Born Céline Tran on April 9, 1979, in Lyon, France, Katsuni built one of the more notable careers in adult entertainment during the 2000s before stepping away to pursue work in mainstream film, writing, and music. Of French and Vietnamese heritage, with a Vietnamese father and French mother, she belongs among a select group of Mixed Race Models who achieved widespread international recognition.

Early Career and Rise

Katsuni entered the adult industry around 2001, at approximately 22 years old. Prior to that, she had been admitted to Sciences Po and was studying Modern Literature. Her early career included being named Penthouse Pet of the Month in France, which helped establish her visibility. She went on to work with several prominent studios, including Digital Playground, Wicked Pictures, and Marc Dorcel, as well as photographers such as Holly Randall and Michael Ninn. Over the course of her career, she appeared on 182 covers, shot 107 photosets, and performed in 75 videos.

Name Change and Legal Issues

Katsuni originally performed under the stage name Katsumi. In January 2007, a French judge barred her from using that name after a woman named Mary Katsumi brought a lawsuit over the similarity. By October 2007, Katsuni was fined 20,000 euros for violating the ban. She subsequently adopted the slightly altered spelling that became her permanent stage name.

Physical Attributes and Career Details

Standing 5'7" with black hair and brown eyes, Katsuni had breast augmentation surgery on May 30, 2006, going from a B-cup to a D-cup, followed by a second enlargement to DD by 2008. Her measurements were listed as 34-23-35 with a slim build.

Retirement and Transition

On August 14, 2013, Katsuni publicly announced her retirement from adult film to focus on acting. Her years active in the industry spanned from 2001 to 2014, totaling roughly 13 years. She is reported to have formally closed this chapter by 2021. During her career, she accumulated 37 international awards, including recognition from the AVN Awards, XBIZ, and the Hot d'Or ceremony in France.

Post-Industry Work

After leaving adult entertainment, Céline Tran moved into mainstream creative fields. Her acting credits include the film Les Kaira (2012), Metal Hurlant Chronicles, and the martial arts film Jailbreak. She also created the comic book series Heartbreaker, published between 2014 and 2017, contributed writing to French publications, and has performed as a DJ.
