Karissa Shannon

Born on October 2, 1989, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Karissa Shannon entered the entertainment industry in 2008 alongside her twin sister Kristina Shannon. The two moved into the Playboy Mansion that year as girlfriends of Hugh Hefner and began appearing on the E! reality series The Girls Next Door alongside Crystal Harris.

Playboy and Early Career

Karissa was named Miss July 2009 in Playboy magazine, with Kristina featured as Miss August in a combined summer issue. The twins shared a single centerfold, a format that differed from how previous twin Playmates had been presented. She also appeared as Playboy Slovakia's Playmate of the Month in December 2009. At the time of their Playboy appearances, both sisters had natural B-cup breasts.

By January 2010, Karissa and Kristina had moved out of the mansion following a breakup with Hefner and relocated to the Playmate House. A planned spinoff series titled The Girls Next Door: The Bunny House was scrapped after the twins were asked to leave when Hefner learned they had boyfriends.

Television and Public Appearances

The Shannon twins' first acting credit was a small role in Sofia Coppola's film Somewhere. In 2012, they competed on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK, finishing fifth. In 2015, both sisters appeared on the television show Botched to address complications from plastic surgeries they had undergone after their Playboy days, including a botched augmentation and nose job that had altered their previously identical appearance.

Adult Industry Work

In 2010, a sex tape featuring Karissa and then-boyfriend Sam Jones III was released by Vivid Entertainment under the title Karissa Shannon Superstar. That same year, she confirmed involvement in sex tapes with Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.

The more significant shift into professional adult content came in December 2018, when Karissa and Kristina announced they had signed with Brazzers to produce hardcore scenes.
