Starting as an exotic dancer in El Paso, Texas, Jessica Drake left her psychology studies at the University of Texas-El Paso to enter adult entertainment full time. Born on October 14, 1974, in San Antonio, Texas, she made her on-screen debut in 1999 at age 25, first posing for magazines and appearing on Playboy TV before shooting her first film, Pussyman's Decadent Divas 2.

Studio Career and Contract Work

Jessica spent two years as a contract performer with Sin City from 2000 to 2002. In April 2003, she signed an exclusive deal with Wicked Pictures, a relationship that became one of the longer-lasting studio affiliations in the industry. Over the course of her career, she appeared in more than 550 films. She had posted tweets suggesting that performers who refused to work with crossover or transgender performers were homophobic. August had publicly stated she maintained a "no" list based on health concerns and received significant online backlash. August took her own life days after the controversy. August's husband, Kevin Moore, and Jenna Jameson both publicly named Jessica as bearing some responsibility. Jessica later stated in the documentary The Last Days of August that she never intended to bully August and was making a broader statement about performer safety.
