Before entering the adult industry, Lezley Zen worked in the restaurant business in Charleston, South Carolina, where she was born on February 19, 1974. She held positions as a bartender, waitress, and front-of-house manager at an Italian trattoria. Following a divorce, she began competing in bikini and wet t-shirt contests, which eventually led to connections in the adult entertainment world.

Entry into Adult Film

Through contacts made on the contest circuit, Lezley arranged a meeting with Brad Armstrong and Jonathan Morgan at Wicked Pictures. Her first credited adult film was Wicked's "Serenity's Roman Orgy" in 2001. She has spoken openly about her motivations for entering the industry, citing both the financial pressures of her divorce and a desire to "spite" her then-fiance Ron, a personal trainer who began performing in adult films around the same time.
