Katie Price
AKA: Jordan, Katie André, Katrina Amy Alexandra Alexis Price
Katie Price
Few figures in British tabloid culture have maintained as long a presence as Katie Price. Born on May 22, 1978, in Brighton, East Sussex, she first entered the public eye in 1996 when she began appearing on Page 3 of The Sun under the name Jordan. Now approaching three decades in the spotlight, her career has spanned glamour modeling, television, publishing, music, and business.
Early Career and Modeling
Price's modeling career started after a friend encouraged her to take professional photos, which led to representation by a London agency. Her Page 3 work as Jordan quickly made her one of the most recognized glamour models in the UK. She appeared across numerous international editions of Playboy, including a feature in the September 2002 US edition, and was named Playboy Greece's Playmate of the Month in November 2002. She also appeared in multiple volumes of Playboy's Book of Lingerie between 1997 and 1999, and graced covers of FHM, Maxim, and Front magazine.
Television and Media
Her transition into television began with auditions and guest hosting spots in the late 1990s. The pivotal moment came in 2004 when she joined the cast of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, where she met singer Peter Andre. This appearance launched a series of reality programs, including Jordan (2002 to 2005), Katie & Peter (2004 to 2009), and Katie Price: My Crazy Life (2017 to 2020). She returned to I'm a Celebrity in 2009 and won the fifteenth series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2015. In 2005, she was runner-up in the UK selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Publishing
Price proved unexpectedly successful as an author. Her first autobiography, Being Jordan (2004), sold over a million copies. Between 2000 and 2009, she ranked among the UK's top 100 best-selling authors. Her fiction output includes the Angel novel series, which reached the top of The Sunday Times bestseller list. In total, she has published eight autobiographies, eleven novels, and two children's book series.
Business and Other Ventures
Beyond media work, Price has launched several commercial lines, including nutritional supplements, fragrances, and equestrian clothing. She released a fitness DVD and, with Andre, a duets album titled A Whole New World in 2006. In 2001, she ran as an independent candidate in the UK general election, receiving 713 votes. In 2023, she launched The Katie Price Show as a podcast.
Personal Life and Family
Price has five children from different relationships, including her eldest son Harvey, whose father is footballer Dwight Yorke. She was married to Peter Andre from 2005 to 2009, and they share two children. Her daughter, Princess Andre, has followed her into modeling. As one of the longer-active British Models in the industry, Price continues to maintain a media presence through content platforms and social media.
