Dasha Nekrasova

Born in Minsk, Belarus on February 19, 1991, Dasha Nekrasova is a Belarusian-American actress, filmmaker, podcaster, and cultural commentator who has been active across media since approximately 2014. Her career spans independent film, prestige television, podcasting, and modeling, with a trajectory that has moved between internet culture and more traditional entertainment spaces.

Early Career and Podcasting

Dasha first gained wider public attention under the tongue-in-cheek moniker "Sailor Socialism," which circulated online before her podcast work brought a more sustained audience. On March 29, 2018, she launched the cultural commentary podcast "Red Scare" alongside co-host Anna Khachiyan. The show, which covers American culture and politics in a tone that shifts between comedic and earnest, has been associated with both the dirtbag left and the new right, as well as the social scene around Dimes Square in lower Manhattan. The podcast remains active and is supported through Patreon.

Film and Television

In 2020, Dasha made her directorial debut with "The Scary of Sixty-First," in which she also starred alongside Betsey Brown and Madeline Quinn. The film established her as a presence in New York's independent film scene.

She took on a supporting role in season three of the HBO drama "Succession," playing Comfrey, a crisis PR representative. The role placed her within one of the most discussed television productions of its era. Notably, Sydney Sweeney stated in a 2021 New York Times interview that her portrayal of a "mean girl" in "The White Lotus" was partly inspired by Dasha and co-host Khachiyan. Charli XCX similarly cited Dasha as an influence behind the song "Mean Girls" on her 2024 album "BRAT."

Modeling and Recent Work

In 2024, Dasha was featured in No Agency New York Magazine's "No Erotica Issue #4," appearing as a model in the publication. With over eleven years of activity across various media, her work continues to straddle entertainment, commentary, and visual media.

Personal Life

Dasha is of Belarusian descent and identifies as a Slovak Ruthenian Carpatho-Rusyn Greek Eastern Catholic. She married visual artist Reilly Sinanan in May 2025. She previously dated musician Daniel Lopatin, known as Oneohtrix Point Never, and was formerly engaged to comedian Adam Friedland, host of "The Adam Friedland Show" and previously of the podcast "CumTown."
