Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Cytherea entered the adult industry in 2003 at the age of 21 after being recruited by an agent through a Yahoo fan group. Her stage name is taken from the Greek goddess of love, beauty, and music. Her first scene was with Tyce Bune for the title "I've Never Done That Before 14."

Early Career and Recognition

Cytherea quickly became known for her squirting performances, a skill that became central to her brand. Elegant Angel produced a dedicated series around her called "Squirtwoman." In 2004, she formed her own production company, Cytherea Productions. By 2005, she had earned two AVN Awards: Best New Starlet and Best Specialty Release. That same year she began feature dancing, making her debut in Charlotte, North Carolina at The Gentlemen's Club. She also hosted an industry radio show on KSEX in Los Angeles called "Goddess of Gush," which ran until 2006.

Hiatus and Returns

After her initial run, Cytherea stepped away from performing around 2005 to focus on raising her two children. She returned briefly in 2010 and 2011 before taking another extended break. In 2012, she signed with Ideal Image Management for representation. In 2014, she publicly announced plans to crowdfund her return to the industry, noting that she had undergone plastic surgery in preparation.

Studio Work and Later Career

Over the course of her career, Cytherea worked with a wide range of studios including Brazzers, ATK Exotics, ATK Petites, Cherry Pimps, FTV Milfs, Pure Taboo, New Sensations, Hustler, Earl Miller, and Elegant Angel, among others. She also maintained her own site. Her first anal scene came in 2006 with "Cytherea's Anal Whores." Her credits span over 560 videos and more than 600 covers.
