Early Career and Music

Born Tara Leigh Patrick on April 20, 1972, in Sharonville, Ohio, Carmen Electra moved to Minneapolis as a young woman, where a chance connection with Prince led to her self-titled debut album in 1993. The music career did not gain significant commercial traction, but it established her presence in the entertainment industry and set the stage for what followed.

Modeling and Baywatch Breakthrough

Electra began glamour modeling in 1996 with appearances in Playboy magazine, contributing two covers and two photosets over the course of her career. After relocating to Los Angeles, she landed the role of Lani McKenzie on the globally popular series Baywatch, appearing from 1997 to 1998. Notably, Kelly Monaco served as her body double for water scenes, as Carmen could not swim. That same year, she took on hosting duties for MTV's dating show Singled Out and made her film debut in the comedy horror film American Vampire.

Film and Television Work

Throughout the 2000s, Electra built a recognizable filmography, particularly within the parody genre. Her credits include Scary Movie (2000), Scary Movie 4 (2006), Date Movie (2006), Epic Movie (2007), Meet the Spartans (2008), and Disaster Movie (2008). Other film appearances span Good Burger (1997), Get Over It (2001), Starsky and Hutch (2004), and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005). In 2004, she co-starred with then-husband Dave Navarro in the reality series 'Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave. She also provided voice work for the animated series Tripping the Rift in 2005.
