Personal Details
April Hunter
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 24, 1973, April Hunter has built a career that spans multiple industries over nearly three decades, moving between adult modeling, fitness, and professional wrestling in a trajectory that is difficult to categorize neatly.
Early Career
Hunter's professional life began around 1996, when she was roughly 22 years old. She started as an erotic dancer before transitioning into softcore nude modeling. After deciding the adult industry was not a direction she wanted to pursue, she shifted focus to fitness modeling, a move that would ultimately lead to her first significant break in the sports entertainment world.
Wrestling and Entertainment
In 2000, World Championship Wrestling hired Hunter through talent coordinator Terry Taylor, having taken notice of her Playboy layout. She was placed within the nWo faction alongside four other models, including Tylene Buck, Pamela Paulshock, Midajah O'Hearn, and Kim Kanner. The group served as valets for nWo members and later remained with Scott Steiner following the faction's split. Hunter departed WCW later that year over a pay dispute.
Rather than leave wrestling entirely, she made the decision to train as a competitor. In 2001 she relocated to Boston and began working under trainer Killer Kowalski. From there she entered the independent circuit and distinguished herself with several notable achievements. She is credited as the first woman in professional wrestling history to hold male Tag Team Titles, capturing both JAPW and 3PW tag gold with partner Wagner Brown. She also co-founded one of the earliest women's tag teams in the United States, The Killer Babes, alongside fellow Kowalski trainee Nikki Roxx in World Xtreme Wrestling.
Notable Milestones
Hunter has competed for Ring of Honor, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, and numerous independent promotions across the United States. Her international schedule has included tours through Europe, Japan, Puerto Rico, Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Mexico. She is among a small number of western women to have been invited to compete on Japan's independent wrestling circuit more than five times.
In November 2006, Hunter won the Queens of Chaos world title in Paris, France, a tournament drawing top-ranked women's wrestlers from across the globe. She has also appeared in Carmen Electra's NWWL.
Physical Profile
Hunter stands 5 feet 9 inches and carries a redhead look that has remained consistent across her public career. She has two visible tattoos: a band around her right upper arm and a heart on her left hip. Her measurements are listed at 40DD-24-35 with enhanced bust.
At 52, Hunter remains active across her professional outlets, with her career now approaching the 30-year mark.
