Born on February 4, 1988, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Anekee van der Velden spent her early years in the country before relocating to Italy at around the age of twelve. She was raised partly by her maternal grandmother in central Amsterdam, and later adopted by an Italian family in the Milan area, where she completed her schooling under a different name. Her given name was an unconventional variant of the traditional Dutch name Anneke, chosen by her parents at birth. The name she later used publicly was assembled from her original given name and her maternal grandmother's family name, Van der Velden.

Modeling Career

Anekee launched her first personal website in March 2003, when she was approximately fifteen years old. The site began as a free resource before moving to a paid model, and operated as a fully self-managed project throughout its existence. Her approach was deliberately informal and low in production value, a deliberate stylistic choice rather than a financial limitation. Alongside photo content, she published diary-style written entries, describing the work as partly therapeutic and partly exhibitionist in nature.
